Utility tunnels
Lusail City encompasses the most modern, luxurious and practical residential areas in Qatar all with a comprehensive set of services. It is a very attractive locale for both residents and tourists and a natural extension of Doha city.
Lusail City is unique in its design, built according to the highest and most prestigious international standards in order to secure the highest quality of life attainable. Planning is meticulous; everything is considered and any possible complications or obstacles to progress are resolved right at the start of the process.
This integrated planning process means comprehensive networks of services can be built to tighter schedules. For instance, a special underground network of tunnels is primarily designed for any maintenance work that has to take place. In this way, maintenance operations can be completed from these special underground tunnels without disrupting existing or completed infrastructure and building. Likewise, traffic will not be interrupted, and regular maintenance will not impact on the day-to-day routine of those living in the city.
Gas Networks
Lusail City uses a gas network which replaces traditional gas cylinders and that is more convenient and poses less of a risk. Gas reaches all the plots within the city via underground network which are extremely safe and widely accessible.
Underground Electrical Substations
Lusail City will be smoothing and conditioning the electrical power supply that serves the city at a purpose-built station and at several auxiliary underground substations. This is one of the most unique and innovative infrastructure features, characterised by extreme practicality and safety; it is unprecedented in both Qatar and, indeed,the Arab Gulf states.
District Cooling
Lusail city will use a state-of-the-art system for maintaining a cool environment in buildings and towers. The system involves chilled water in pipes that are fed to each locality via underground tunnel in the Marina district and through an extensive network throughout Lusail City.
A central control facility will be responsible for operating, managing and maintaining the cooling system as well as achieving the following:
- Decreasing the overall power consumption of the project
- Decreasing the negative effect on the environment
- Securing financial resources and increasing production
- Better design, aesthetics & comfort level
Pneumatic Waste Disposal System
A waste disposal system will be responsible for waste management operations in selected districts of Lusail City. The system allows waste to be transported via vacuum network. Waste will be transported to a waste compilation and management facility where it will either be recycled or disposed of. The system will allow Lusail to remain a beautifully clean and healthy city.
Waterways
Lusail City project owes much of its grandeur to the unique elements which characterise it; among these is its location on the waterfront and the historical and cultural significance of the location.
The fabulous waterfront location, extending over the distance of 28 kilometres, provides a fabulous setting for the buildings and the city as a whole.
This coupled with references to Qatar’s history and heritage will help create a unique identity for Lusail City.
Treatment Plant
Sewerage Treatment Plant Underground pipes are, again, used for sanitation. Sewerage is pumped at high pressure through the pipes to a station located outside the city where it is treated and gray water will be used to irrigate all public open spaces in Lusail City.
