The ceremony, which aims at rewarding the batching plants operators, for making the northern Logistic Area of the project a waste and concrete free area, was attended by around 60 representatives from the companies that participated in the cleaning campaign of the logistics area in Lusail City site.
"Your entities contributed to the success of the cleaning campaign, which led to an overall enhancement in the Waste Management of the plants. Today, approximately 300,000 cubic meter of construction debrisin the Logistic Area have been evacuated through your teams and concrete reclaimers, for recycling the surplus and rejected products, have been installed. We can be proud of these achievements," said Eng. Essa Mohammed Ali Kaldari, Chief Executive Officer, Lusail Real Estate Development Company.
Lusail in its effort to combat waste hazards that might affect the area, protect the environment and the workers’ health, as well as to abide by the management plant strategy, have conducted workshops to help the batching plants operators control the concrete waste in the area. The workshops gave clear indication of the waste collection, conditioning systems and the waste disposal processes, which were set up specifically for this purpose.
"We are continuously striving to make Lusail and Qatar the best examples to go by, in the Industry, this is why we will do our very best to manage all our projects using state-of-the art technology. Finally, we urge you to continue with the good work and to take all our remaining concerns with utmost care", added Eng. Kaldari.
According to Lusail’s management LREDC will continue to support this waste management campaign by ensuring that all its projects are operated in a green, clean and sustainable environment, and by fencing the area to prevent any pollution, waste and dump from the outside.
Awards and certificates were distributed at the ceremony to reward the employees who have taken part in this cleaning campaign, and encourage them to continue in their efforts to apply waste and hazard control procedures and prevent any additional waste during their work at the project.
"I am very much honored to be here today and receive a reward of appreciation for participating in a project, which aims to help make our environment a healthy one. I think all the other organizations should be encouraged to follow Lusail’s lead and use the same safety and waste management procedures," said one of the employees who participated in the cleaning campaign.
