Giving Back to Community

Lusail Real Estate Development Company (LREDC) and Qatari Diar Real Estate Development Company (QATARI DIAR) share important values which shape their social responsibilities. These values are enriched with many multi-faceted programs that are intended to help transform local and regional developments into sustainable and environmentally friendly communities.  
 
Inspired by the rich Qatari tradition, and deep Arabic culture, QATARI DIAR and LREDC developed these many programs to dynamically interact with the modern needs.  Many programs represent a reflection of the social contribution to Qatari society and the world.  These programs were developed with cooperation with many agencies, ministries and non-profit organizations.
 
The Office of Development of Revitalization and Development Qatar (Qatarization Office) represents a cornerstone of QATARI DIAR and LREDC contribution to Qatari society.   Human resources is one of the most important resources in the country.  Therefore, in line with government policies, the Qatarization Office developed scholarship programs to Qatari high school students.  Every year the Qatarization Office receives many applications from graduating high school students who are interested in pursuing their education in different universities in Qatar and abroad.  Facilitating educational scholarship is one of the priorities of the Qatarization Office and officials from QATARI DIAR and LREDC have worked hard from various operational and executive levels to coordinate such scholarships in their respective companies and keep track of the progress and academic performance of those students.
Another program established by the Qatarization Office is the fresh graduate programs in which male and female Qatari students are recruited and hired to attend accelerated management development programs that enable them to tour different departments, to work in various levels, and to perform job functions in all levels of operations and in different departments.  By conducting these rotations, the students’ experience, on a first hand basis, how business processes are performed and the amount of effort it takes to perform the tasks.  Once the fresh college graduate finishes the rotation, they are generally assigned based on corporate business, need, academic degree, and personal preference. 
 
QATARI DIAR and LREDC also participate in different programs that are cultural in nature.  With cooperation with various ministries, agencies and groups, the companies are active in celebrating traditional and cultural occasions such as the middle of Ramadan feast in which kids in Qatar celebrate Garangao (candy giving events).  Also the public relations departments send Eid and Ramadan greetings to customers, employees, consultants and ordinary citizens to commemorate such happy events.   
 
In order to provide an ideal environment to our expatriates’ community, QATARI DIAR and LREDC also participate in different sports leagues for soccer, volleyball, basketball, and crickets by sponsoring employees and encouraging their participation.  In the past few years, QATARI DIAR AND LREDC teams have not only participated, but have also won several competitions against other prominent company teams. 
 
The health and well being of the employee being a first corporate priority, the human resource department of QATARI DIAR AND LREDC frequently coordinate blood drives in cooperation with Qatar Blood Bank.  Additionally, wellness, blood-draw, and diabetes checkup events regularly take place in cooperation with Hamad Medical Corporation.  
 
QATARI DIAR and LREDC‘s social responsibility commitments also contains unbridled dedication to being eco-friendly and safeguarding the environment.  QATARI DIAR and LREDC not only follow different local government laws and policies, they also aim to follow and set further international standards by cooperation with different ministries, such as Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Labor, and Ministry of Trade and Business.  Cooperation includes regularly inspection visits to various work camp and job sites in order to ensure complete compliance with the environmental and labor laws in order to ensure that noise, pollution etc. are to acceptable levels, and in order to ensure a complete protection of the wild life, fishery, the environment.  LREDC and its Health Safety, Security and Environment department regularly inspects the construction site to ensure that no illegal dumping takes place at construction sites by contractors and sub-developers.  These trips and inspection visits take place in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment, and the Ministry of Labor.
 
QATARI DIAR and LREDC are socially conscious companies that also look to other parts of the world where operations may not necessarily take place.  Most recently and in cooperation with different ministries, agencies and non-profit organizations QATARI DIAR and LREDC participated with relief agencies in the drive to help the flood victims of Pakistan.
