Around almost every cover corner you can find one of the many parks found throughout Lusail City. These distinctive green landscapes are placed in harmony with one another and represent the distinguishing characteristics of its neighborhood district. Within the Fox Hills District alone there 33 parks scattered throughout providing approximately 10.3 hectares of open space.
Crescent Park is divided into five (5) separate plots of s hardscape and softscape features. The park include themed playgrounds, water features, shade structures, architectural features (kiosks, toilets, plant rooms, monuments) bike & pedestrian paths, plazas, seating areas, forested tree zones, open play lawn areas, sunken gardens, and ambient landscape accent/area lighting. For the sports enthusiast a range of facilities are widely available such as; a football pitch, three basketball courts, two volleyball courts, three tennis courts , four bocce areas, a lawn bowling green and bike trails.
The pocket gardens are a series of medium to small size parks that include children play areas, shade structures and other amenities, in high profile landscape areas comprising furniture, decorative walls and planting beds. The Marina District includes Four (4) Car Parks gardens and eighteen (18) pocket parks. The gross area of these pocket gardens exceeds 26,000 Square meters, approximately.
The waterfront of the Marina District comprises of about 3 Kilometres of public promenades. With many features and amenities, such as Marinas, pergola structures, interactive water features, kiosks, restaurants, marina fuel dock and viewing platforms; all in a high profile landscaped environment, reflecting the distinctive destination, that LREDC is planning for.
The Public Realm at Lusail City Marina District includes a system of street-scape, pocket gardens, landscaped car parks and a series of promenades. The public realm includes the landscape works, natural stone paving, aesthetic features, water features, shade structures, pergolas, state of the art irrigation system, landscape lighting, street lighting mounted on multifunction poles and street furniture all centrally managed by Lusail Central Control Centre. Furthermore, a dedicated cycle path was included in the design to cater for public needs.
The Streetscapes of Lusail City include soft and hard landscape works on both sides of the roads and intersections including median works. Irrigation works consists of controllers, secondary main water supply lines, laterals, and necessary equipments to supply and operate the system. Hard landscape includes furniture, walkway and bike path paving, landscape lighting, street lighting and other structures. Soft landscape includes street tree planting and shrub and ground cover planting for verges and central medians.
